The Social Committee, chaired by The Renter Warden, organises a range of events throughout the year. Its specific objectives are to:
- organise an annual programme of social activities in different settings and geographical locations, with consideration of size, budget and time of day, to support access, inclusivity and participation.
- offer a varied menu of events and activities, including virtual and/or hybrid events, that will appeal to a wide range of Members.
- plan, with the Master, social activities that are based on the theme of the Master for each year.
- respond to feedback and requests from Members for specific visits / types of visit.
The programme usually involves visits to interesting and educational venues and the committee also organises The Master’s Weekend and any Masters Progress activity. These occasions provide informal opportunities to get to know fellow members and sometimes gain access to environments available to organised groups but not the individual. Upcoming social events can be seen on the Calendar. Information on events and invitations to book them appear regularly in the weekly Newsletter from the Clerk. Spaces are sometimes limited and if that is the case then a principle of “first come…” is used or occasionally a ballot to select participants.
The Company Renter Warden manages these events supported by the Social Committee. Contact renterwarden@co-educators.com if you have particular queries on any activity or more generally about the social programme, or if you would like to make suggestions.
To find out more about the kind of events that have been organised previously, look in The Educator where there are write ups of recent activity.
