Looks at current developments and challenges within careers education sector using Gatsby Benchmark expectations; establishing a community to discuss and share good practice and demonstrating practical solutions to impact CI&G curriculum.  For more detail contact the SIG Lead.

MODE OF WORKING:

Open to all in the Company with an interest or expertise to offer, and external specialists by invitation. Launching in Autumn 2020, it holds meeting via Teams and Zoom. Builds on other Company high profile events including London Careers week, Apprentice 20 and Livery Schools Showcase and Livery Education Conference.

Careers Guidance and Labour Market Intelligence – focusing on students with special educational needs.

Part of the 2022 series of presentations examining the importance of careers information and guidance. The speakers were Oliver Jenkin, careers advisor and journalist and Maureen Duncan, Head Teacher of Brook Special Primary School.   With SIG-SEND – Special Educational Needs & Disability

23 November 2020 – The Group met via Zoom and received presentations on the use of computer tools in careers education.

29 September 2020 -This group was launched at an Inaugural meeting focusing on Gatsby Benchmarks – 2 (Learning from career and labour market information), 3 (Addressing the needs of each student), 5 (Encounters with employers and employees) and 6 (Experience of workplaces). There was a presentation from the Project Officer of the first virtual London Careers Festival that took place at the end of June.
